Tips for testing secondary school students
Considerations when using the Sound Scouts Triple Factor Hearing Screener with older students.
Secondary school students are generally able to follow the test instructions independently, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Explain itβs a short game designed to assess their hearing and there will be times when the levels are very low as the test works out the quietest sounds they can hear.
- Remind students to ONLY tap when they hear a sound β random tapping will result in an Invalid result.
- Test in a quiet room away from classroom noise.
- Utilise the Trial Run activities if students are unfamiliar with technology or have learning or behavioural issues.
